challenge
Nextiva’s creative teams were in a tough spot: silos, a lack of trust from stakeholders, and a brand evolving faster than the design process could keep up with. Some teams were even going outside for design needs. We needed to unify the brand experience and turn the design team into a trusted partner.
approach
As fractional creative leader, we brought our coaching mindset front and center. We rebuilt trust by making collaboration clearer and more enjoyable, coaching the team to deliver consistently high-quality work, and creating simple systems—like a brand portal and modular templates—that made it easy to do things the right way.
Outcomes
Creative Standards
Efficient Systems
Stronger Relationships
01
We started with an audit through interviews with the team and key stakeholders. We asked the hard questions, surfaced relationship gaps, assessed strengths and growth areas, then built a practical plan with challenges, approaches, and frameworks to reset the team’s confidence and elevate the work.

02
From launching the Lingo brand portal to guiding the Nextiva.cx marketing site design alongside the CEO, we focused on initiatives that built long-term brand infrastructure and unified the creative language. Each project made the design process smoother and more scalable.
We introduced and helped close the Lingo partnership for Nextiva. We built a brand portal that made brand assets easy to find, easy to use, and hard to misuse.
We co-created biannual campaign creative direction with the campaigns team, creating a scalable system of templates that teams could deploy across channels with minimal friction.
We built the brand for Nextiva’s newest innovation, XBert. It aligns with the primary brand while still owning a distinct role as an AI receptionist built for SMBs.
03
We didn’t just lead projects; we coached the team to present their work confidently, handle feedback effectively, and deliver top-notch designs consistently. This turned the design function into a team that others trusted and enjoyed working with.

04
By focusing on open communication and quick wins, we helped repair the relationship between design and other teams. People started to see us as partners, not obstacles, and that trust made all the difference.

Working with the CEO, CMO, and head of Brand we helped shape narratives and design strategies at the highest level. This wasn’t just about making things look good; it was about making design a strategic pillar of the business.
